And when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.’  (Matthew 4:3 KJV)

As we step into this new year, God reminds us that this season holds great PROMISE and PURPOSE. Yet, just like Jesus at the beginning of His earthly ministry, moments of purpose are often met with moments of pressure.

When Jesus was about to launch fully into His divine assignment, Satan came with a subtle but strategic temptation — BREAD . It was not merely about food; it was about provision, survival, and material need. Satan understood that for any purpose to be fulfilled, resources are required. He attempted to shift Jesus’ focus from PURPOSE to PROVISIONS.

Many times, when God drops a powerful idea, vision, or assignment into our hearts, the very first question that arises is: “How will I fund it?” “Do I have enough?” “Where will the resources come from?” This is where many ideas and visions are buried (bread grave) —not because they were wrong, but because the quest for bread became louder than the call of purpose. Provision matters, but it must never become the master.

This year, refuse to let fear of lack silence your obedience. Do not allow the need for bread to kill the dream God placed in your heart. What is the impact your soul longs to make this year? Whether you are sensing a call to start or grow a business, build a ministry, serve a cause, write a book, develop an idea, or step into leadership, whatever! — Hold on to it. Feed it with faith. Guard it with obedience. God, who inspired you, is with you.

Reflection
What vision or assignment has God placed in your heart that fear of provision has delayed or threatened?

Thank you and have a blissful moment!
